My Sitecore Journey

2013

What is Sitecore 🤔

In 2013 I was tasked to build a connector to integrate Sitecore with a Commerce System. It was not too hard to learn the platform. I got lots of help from the Sitecore developer community. I apprecited Sitecore's highly extensible architecture and liked that it's a developer-centric company that listens to a vibrant developer community. It seemed it's a CMS platform with the potential to be a big player in the Online Digital Experience marketplace.

I joined Nish Tech, a Cincinnati based Sitecore implementation partner. I started blogging and presenting in user groups. It was a great experience attending my first Sitecore Symposium. It was a great opportunity to meet face to face with others in the community.

2015

First Sitecore MVP Award 🙏

I was awarded Technology MVP for my contribution to the Sitecore community. Sitecore Symposium, MVP Summit, and the first North America SUGCON happened in New Orleans. Other than mingling with a like-minded crowd, I experienced great music and culture.

2016

Sitecore Symposium, NOLA

I participated in Sitecore Hackathon for the first time. Nish Tech released Sitecore Accelerator for Integrated Commerce (SAFIC) in the Symposium. I continued to share knowledge through my blog and through User Group presentation.

2017

Sitecore Symposium, Las Vegas

Sitecore announced major releases like JSS Preview, ML Engine Cortex and Sitecore 9. It's a great experience watching closing session with Mark Hamill. Awesome party at Omnia Nightclub.

2018

SUGCON Europe 2018, Berlin

I presented Sitecore Commerce Integration Framework in SUGCON Berlin with @surdev. Drove on Autobahn, Germany. Attended Sitecore Symposium and MVP Summit at Orlando, Florida.

2019

SUGCON Europe 2019, London

I blogged about Sitecore Identity and released Sitecore IdentityServer modules. Presented Sitecore Identity in SUGCON Europe 2019, London. It was a great opportunity to meet our European friends.

2020

Pandemic

We are all stuck at home. We missed traveling to SUGCON and Symposium. We tried to make the best out of the virtual Sitecore Symposium 2020. I am very much looking forward to SUGCON and Symposium 2021. See you there.
